You're playing Spades with a friend, and the deal is going to end up in your hand. You don't want to be the first to get to 500 points, so you're trying to figure out how to get to that point as fast as you can.
How to Play Spades
The first thing you have to do is to pick a side. You can pick the side that you want to be the winner of the game, or you can be the loser.
Once you have decided on the side, the dealer will deal the first hand. The first hand is dealt face down, and the players are given the opportunity to "cut" the cards. Each player is given 13 cards, and the first dealer is given an additional 13 cards.
Each player is given the opportunity to "bid" the number of tricks they expect to take. Once the cards are dealt, the dealer will begin to shuffle the cards.
